"AHSOKA Teaser Trailer Entitled 'A HEROES JOURNEY' "
Hello there! The Corellian Korean here to talk about the hype teaser trailer for the AHSOKA series that dropped on August 16.
In this new hype trailer, we have the star of the ASHOKA series Rosario Dawson narrating over the trailer footage. She speaks with reverence and joy of how Star Wars had a cultural impact on her and people around the world.
Here is Dawson's script from the trailer:
You felt it. We all have. There's just a generational impact that Star Wars has had on my and so many families across the world. When I think of how much I loved it as a kid... To actually have the montrals on, the lekku, and the costume, it just feels magical.
When I watched THE MANDALORIAN with my mom and I say, "May the force be with you", she literally did like a slow turn towards me with tears in her eyes.
I feel grateful to be a part of something so truly iconic. Getting to play Ahsoka has been an absolute dream come true. It's very personal and it's my honor to be Ahsoka. Her bravery, her passion, her power, Ahsoka is truly one of a kind.
Through the trailer, we get a collage of scenes highlighting iconic moments from several Star Wars movies and series like A NEW HOPE, REVENGE OF THE SITH, THE RETURN OF THE JEDI, THE MANDALORIAN also trailer footage from AHSOKA. Then we get some behind the scenes footage from THE MANDALORIAN and the AHSOKA series. For example, there are short clips of Rosario Dawson in her makeup and prosthetics to be Ahsoka Tano and we see Dawson having fun with Dave Filoni. This teaser trailer footage ends with trailer footage from the AHSOKA series.
There is no new footage related to AHSOKA but it's nice that Lucasfilms recorded this hype trailer with Rosario Dawson. When I watch this trailer, I get a sense of satisfaction knowing Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau got the right actress to play Ahoska in terms of respect and honor for the character and the Star Wars lore. You can tell that she wants to do Ahsoka right and meet the expectations of the creatives and the fans. Star Wars needs a win. We need this series to do well to maintain our hope in the future of Star Wars. May the Force be with Rosario Dawson and all involved that truly want this series to succeed.
