"Expected Star Wars Shows For 2024"
Hello there! The Corellian Korean here to talk about the expected Star Wars content for 2024.
There are several shows that are set to release in 2024. For the year of 2023, we are still waiting for the SKELETON CREW series. There is no concrete date for the SKELETON CREW to premiere but it was originally set to release late 2023 after AHSOKA. There are rumors indicating that SKELETON CREW will receive an early 2024 release instead of a late 2023 premiere due to the Writers Guild of America strike. The show's release will depend upon when the strike ends.
SKELETON CREW is a live-action series set sometime during THE MANDALORIAN series staring Jude Law as one of the lead actors along with a cast of young actors. The show was created by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, both are well known for their work in SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING. SKELETON CREW is being compared to THE GOONIES (1985) and the Netflix series STRANGER THINGS as it is a coming of age story.
THE ACOLYTE is a series that takes place about one hundred years before THE PHANTOM MENACE. The series is created by Leslye Headland and stars actress/singer Amanda Stenberg and SQUID GAME actor, Lee Jung-jae. The live-action series is about a former Padawan and her Jedi Master investigating a series of crimes and how those crimes are connected to the Darkside of the Force.
Similar to SKELETON CREW, THE ACOLYTE series is set to premiere some time in 2024 but due to the writers strike this show may be subject to a delay. For now the series, is set to release in 2024.
Then we have the ANDOR series created by Tony Gilroy. The first season was well received and the second season is set to release in August 2024. The series takes places fives before the events of A NEW HOPE and ROGUE ONE. Season two will continue the story of Cassian Andor as he immerses himself deeper in the world of the Rebellion against the Galactic Empire.
And finally, we have the third season of THE BAD BATCH which is set to release in 2024. There are rumors implying that the production of the third season is still on going. Some believe the third season will be delayed due to the writers strike once again. But this time, the delay may push the third season of THE BAD BATCH to 2025. Hope the strike gets resolved and the writers get what they need.
THE BAD BATCH is an animated series about a group of elite CloneTroopers on the run from the newly formed Galactic Empire. The executive producers of this show are Dave Filoni, Brad Rau, Jennifer Corbett, and Athena Portillo. The series takes place after the Clone Wars and post Order 66. The season two finale ended on a cliff hanger leaving our heroes in the worst case scenario. Unfortunately, for the fans of the series, this will be the last season of the THE BAD BATCH which implies big events are being set up to bring this series to a close.
