"New Official Details About the Antagonists of AHSOKA"

Hello there! The Corellian Korean here to talk about new details released by the official Star Wars website.

WARNING POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD

FOR THE AHSOKA SERIES (PREMIERS AUGUST 23)

THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO TURN AWAY

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...

Very revealing nuggets of information were released by the databank of starwars.com, we now know more about Baylan Skoll, Shin Hati, Marrok, and Morgan Elsbeth.

According to the profile of Baylan Skoll:

Baylan Skoll is a lightsaber-wielding mercenary for hire overseeing his apprentice Shin Hati. But make no mistake: although there was a time when Skoll knew the acclaimed Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, Baylan is no Jedi. Now allied to Morgan Elsbeth, the former Magistrate of Calodan, after the fall of the Jedi and the Empire, Skoll remains a shrewd fighter in search of power who believes that another war is inevitable.

Here is Shin Hati's profile:

The eager apprentice of Baylan Skoll, Shin Hati is adept at lightsaber combat, a skill she uses in their work as mercenaries allied to Morgan Elsbeth, the former Magistrate of Calodan.

Marrok's profile:

Once an Inquisitor hunting Jedi for the Empire, the mysterious Marrok now works as a mercenary hired by Morgan Elsbeth to carry out dark deeds. Fully encased in battered battle armor, the warrior still carries a red double-bladed saber with a circular hilt.

We now know the occupations of Baylan, Shin, and Marrok post the fall of the Empire. They are now mercenaries for hire. Baylan went from Jedi peace keeper to mercenary for hire... how the mighty have fallen. Baylan must have seen some hard times to turn to mercenary work. In the Star Wars universe, guns for hire either turn to private security work, footmen, bounty hunting or mercenary. Some refer to people in this line of work as lowly "scum".

An imperial officer calling bounty hunters "scum"

It seems all great warriors are turning to freelance mercenary jobs. The Mandalorians under the leadership of Axe Woves became guns for hire. The Dark Jedi duo Baylan and Shin followed suit. And even the once revered Jedi hunting Inquisitor, Marrok became a hired lightsaber for Morgan Elsbeth. As a matter of fact, Baylan, Shin and Marrok are all working for and are allied with Eslbeth. I wonder what she is offering the three Force users for their services. It must be substantial. Maybe the Sun Crusher? Or an undead army of Stormtroopers? Power beyond their imagination?

Now let's look at the profile of Magistrate Morgan Elsbeth:

The coldhearted former Magistrate of Calodan, Morgan Elsbeth is an ally of Grand Admiral Thrawn and an enemy of the New Republic. A formidable fighter with a mysterious past, Elsbeth once hunted Ahsoka Tano on the world of Corvus before she was bested in battle and arrested for acting as an Imperial sympathizer.

Elsbeth has a mysterious past? No kidding. I always thought that simple magistrate was too good to go up against a trained Jedi in melee combat. During the second season of THE MANDALORIAN, Elsbeth held up her own against Ahsoka for one minute and forty three seconds. Most fall to a Jedi in mere seconds. It was Elsbeth' Beskar spear vs. Tano's dual lightsabers. Clearly, there is more to Morgan Elsbeth than meets thee eye. Maybe she was overlooked because of her connection to Grand Admiral Thrawn overshadowed her presence. I think Elsbeth is a Force Adept. Not just any Force user, but a Nightsister.

The fight between Morgan Elsbeth vs. Ahsoka Tano

Elsbeth's cropped white hair and red black clothes resembles that of a Nightsister. If we compare Elsbeth's appearance with that other Nightsisters we can draw similarities. Elsbeth even has an ornamental tattoo on her forehead that resembles a rune or symbol like the facial tattoos of Nightsisters of the past. Maybe Elsbeth is from another branch of Nightsister that are different from the ones we saw during the Clone Wars.

This would also explain this moment in the trailer, when Elsbeth operates this interesting navigational mechanism. There are no buttons or levers to pull. She is operating these ruins and obelisks with what looks like magic or the Force. I believe Elsbeth uses Nightsister ancient "magick" to divine the location of Thrawn.

Like I said, the official website revealed a lot of information about the upcoming AHSOKA series which will air on August 23rd. Get hyped fans! I hope this series will be the saving grace of Lucasfilms.

That's it for this scoop. I hope you found today's post interesting. If you did please share your thoughts. And while you are at it please leave a like. Until next time, may the Force be with you. Always!
