"Another New AHSOKA Trailer Entitled 'FORCE' "
Hello there! The Corellian Korean here to talk about the another AHSOKA trailer that just dropped 2 hours ago on August 13, Seoul Time, from the time this line was typed. The marketing team unleashed a flood teaser trailers. Let the good times roll!
WARNING POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD
FOR THE AHSOKA SERIES (PREMIERS AUGUST 23)
THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO TURN AWAY
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...
This is the SIXTH trailer released by Lucasfilms to promote the AHSOKA series (excluding the "Masters and Apprentice" and "A New Legacy" teaser trailers). More awesome footage of the upcoming AHSOKA series!
Here are image stills that highlight the footage of the trailer:
A familiar clip of Baylan Skoll talking to Ahsoka Tano at the navigational site. This time we have new dialogue of Baylan saying, "Everyone in the order knew Anakin Skywalker. Few would live to see what he became."
So does that mean Baylan knew Anakin only in reputation or did he know him as a fellow Jedi acquaintance. Or maybe they fought together as allies similar to how Obi-wan teamed up with Quinlan Vos on occasion during the Clone Wars.
Then we have Anakin Skywalker, portrayed by a de-aged Hayden Christensen, during the Clone Wars era. This might be a new clip separate from OBI-WAN KENOBI series. Hope they get the de-aging done right.
When Baylan gives the line, "Few would live to see what he became." We get this shot of Vader in his iconic armor during REVENGE OF THE SITH.
Here we have Ahsoka talking to Hera via holographic communication aboard the T-6 shuttle. Here Ahsoka says, "Before the end of the Clone Wars, I walked away from him, and the Jedi." Ahsoka is doubting her qualification to be Sabine Wren's Jedi master which might explain why she "left" Sabine's training incomplete.
Then we have this familiar shot of Ahsoka igniting her lightsaber to take on Baylan at the navigational site. Look at that one lightsaber.
Another familiar shot of Baylan igniting his orangish-red lightsaber as well. Traditionally, Jedi fight with one lightsaber. But on occasion, we get Jedi with unique fighting techniques like Ahsoka's dual lightsabers.
A shot of Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren, and Huyang entering hyperspace. This takes place after they leave Lothal.
This is new footage of Ahsoka's T-6 shuttle flying towards what looks like a hyperspace ring. But it is shooting at the T-6. Obviously, this is not Ahsoka's hyperspace ring. If this is a hyperspace ring, I have never seen one fire blaster bolts before.
This trailer uses a transition technique to blend into the next scene. In the next shot, we have Ahsoka at the ancient Jedi ruins/temple facing off against three droids.
Then Anakin speaks these lines to Ahsoka, "In this war, you will face more than just droids..." He is referring the Clone Wars. Of course, this line is voiced over the trailer footage. We don't actually see Anakin speak in this trailer. But we will once the series airs. :-)
Then we have the familiar shot of Ashoka posing in her ready stance to fight the ex-Inquisitor, Marrok, and droid at the docking/shipyard planet.
Ahsoka takes on the droid then Marrok will join in. Anakin continues speaking, "As your Master, it's my responsibility to prepare you..."
Then we have this beautiful new footage of Ahsoka and the former Inquisitor dismembering the droid between them. Ahsoka disabled the droid by stabbing it in the chest. The droid became lifeless and got in the way between Ahsoka and the ex-Inquisitor. Notice how Ahsoka still has one saber stuck in the chest of the droid.
Ahsoka inside the ancient Jedi ruins/temple examining the carvings on the wall. Then Anakin says this, "I won't always be there to look out for you." I bet she misses her master. Or maybe they have been communicating already via the Force. Anakin did become a Force Ghost after all.
This is new footage for us. It seems to be Ahsoka's T-6 trying to enter the atmosphere of the planet with the red forest and navigational site. If I had to guess, those smaller starfighters belong to Baylan's crew of mercenaries and they want to stop Ahsoka from entering the planet.
This is when Ahsoka Tano and Hera Syndulla reunite. Hera comes to greet Ahsoka and Huyang after they dock in Hera's New Republic transport. This is a new angle from that moment on the busy docking port on the transport.
This is Ahsoka getting ready to leave Lothal with Sabine. Sabine asks if could tag along to which Ahoska responds, "I could use the help."
After Ahoska and Hera's reunion meet at Hera's New Republic transport, the two get on their own transports and head for the docking/shipyard planet. Hera recalling their former Rebellion days saying, "Once a rebel, always a rebel." Oh ya, and Jacen Syndulla is co-piloting next to Hera offscreen.
This is new footage and angle of Sabine racing toward the city where Ahsoka's T-6 was going to land.
Based on the smile of Sabine's face, I think she is pleased to out maneuver the traffic police droid or she is pleased to see that her prodigal master has returned. Or maybe both. This is also new footage.
This is new footage of Ahsoka and Marrok starting their fight in the red forest. They are pacing with the lightsabers out getting readying to lock blades.
Same moment, new angle, before their sabers meet. Anakin continues to speak, "Don't be afraid."
More new footage of their fight.
More glorious new footage of their fight.
I believe this is new footage of the T-6 and the Purrgil, flying giant space whales that can travel via hyperspace. I believe their appearance is a sign that Grand Admiral Thrawn has arrived at the planet with the red forest and the ancient navigational site. The Purrgil have tentacles instead of tail fins which you can see to the right of these images. Hard to tell when this happens... maybe it happens after Ahsoka's fight with Baylan. Or maybe this is a continuation of the three starfighters chasing the T-6 from the orbit of the planet. Now Baylan's mercenary starfighters are chasing the T-6 in the planet's atmosphere.
Here is one of mercenary starfighters chasing and firing at the T-6 around the massive Purrgul's flying body and tentacles. This is new foot age as well.
That blue New Republic starfighter pilot uniform that Ahsoka wears still throws me off. We don't have enough data to determine it's purpose. But if I had to guess, maybe Ahsoka and Sabine used the uniform as a means to deceive the three mercenary starfighters so they can enter the planet of the red forest and ancient navigational site. The weather outside of the cockpit window matches with the scene of flying Purrgil so this might be the same moment.
Another thing that is interesting about this new footage is that Huyang is slouched over in the backseat. I believe the droid was deactivated for overacting to the dogfight/chase with the mercenary starfighters.
New footage of the chase around the massive Purrgils with Anakin's voice over saying, "Trust your instincts."
Ahsoka and Baylan before they lock sabers at the ancient navigational site. Anakin finishes his voice over with this, "I know you can do this, Ahsoka."
More new footage of this fight between Ahsoka and Baylan.
The voiceover by Anakin throughout this trailer seems to imply that there will be a scene with Anakin training Ahsoka most likely from the Clone Wars era. Maybe he teaches Ahsoka some advanced lightsaber maneuvers that she will use to get the upper hand against Baylan. And if I had to guess, this training moment, will be the moment when Ahsoka's younger live-action actress will appear. I believe Dave Filoni wants to keep this moment and the actress' identity a secret. From what i can tell, there are only rumors of a younger live-action Ahsoka actress. The rumor states that actress, Savannah Steyn, will fill role of a younger Ahsoka. Let's wait and see.
More new footage of the fight scene between Ahsoka and Baylan.
I am certain there are many Prequel era and Clone War animated series fans that are hyped about seeing Anakin and Ahsoka together again in live-action for the first time. I'm hyped just thinking about this moment. Another mile-stone for the Star Wars fandom is on the horizon.
Ahsoka seems to be using maneuvers that involve facing larger adversaries like in these images above. She uses her environment to get momentum in her downward chop by jumping off of one of the pillars. Also there is another moment from other trailers when Ahsoka uses one leg to help support her block against Baylan's strike.
This may elude to Baylan's fight style. He fights with power! His strikes are powerful and hard to block. Maybe that is why Shin tells Sabine, that Sabine has no power.. perhaps in Sabine's lightsaber technique or in overall power. Maybe Shin just got used to sparring against her master's strength.
More glorious new footage! Did you guys notice how Ahsoka is fighting with only one lightsaber? Interesting how we saw her with two blades before this planet but for Baylan she only uses one saber. Same thing for Marrok. Hmm... Where did the other lightersaber go?
I'm gonna make a prediction and say Ahsoka lent her second lightsaber to Sabine! Sabine is gonna learn the dual bladed style from her master, Ahsoka. Sabine is gonna surprise Shin with the second white lightsaber. Get hyped!
And here it is again in this new footage. Ahsoka uses one hand to block and one free hand to use the Force to help block Baylan's attack. Ahsoka looks like she is struggling with Baylan but I'm sure she has a plan. Maybe she even uses the free hand to Force push Baylan back. If I had to guess, we will get more justification as to why Ahsoka uses dual lightsabers in this series. Maybe Anakin teaches Ahsoka to be flexible and to be ready for all circumstances.
Well, that's it for this scoop. Sorry for the delay with this post. There were family circumstances that need my attention so I needed more time than usual to finish this post. I'm probably gonna come back and change the way the images are displayed too so the images are easier to view. I'm gonna indicate this change when it happens. So stay tuned for that as well.
I hope you found today's post interesting wherever you are. I put a lot of heart into this post. If you did enjoy the post please share your thoughts. And while you are at it please leave a like. Until next time, may the Force be with you. Always!
