Hello there! The Corellian Korean here with the twentieth RANDOM QUESTION SUNDAY! And the question is:
What happened to Zeb Orrelios?
POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
POTENTIAL SPOILERS FOR THE UPCOMING AHSOKA SERIES
AND REBELS THE ANIMATED SERIES.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...

His friends call him Zeb, but his full name is Garazeb Orrelios (voiced by Steve Blum). Zeb is a male Lasat from the planet of Lira San. Lasats are an alien race with humanoid like features. There are only a few Lasats left in the galaxy as they were driven to near extinction by the Galactic Empire. Zeb debuted as a Rebel freedom fighter aboard the starship, "Ghost" in the REBELS animated series. He fought for the Rebel Alliance against the Galactic Empire.

The crew of the Ghost starship were also referred to as the "Spectres" rebel cell. The Spectres rebel cell was lead by Hera Syndulla and Kanan Jarus. Other members of Spectres consisted of Sabine Wren, Chopper and Ezra Bridger.

Hera Syndulla
(actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead)
Captain and main pilot of the Ghost starship. She is also one of the leaders of the Spectres rebel cell for the Rebellion against the Galactic Empire. During the AHSOKA series, Hera is a high ranking officer of the New Republic. She is still the owner/captain of the Ghost starship and mother of Jacen Syndulla.
Kanan Jarrus
(voiced by Freddie Prinze Jr.)
A Jedi and one of the leaders of the Spectres rebel cell. Kanan was the Jedi master of Ezra Bridger and father of Jacen Syndulla. It's unknown if Kanan will make an appearance for the AHSOKA series.
Sabine Wren
(actress Natasha Liu Bordizzo)
A Mandalorian warrior and member of the Spectres rebel cell. Sabine will make an appearance for the AHSOKA series. According the teaser trailers, Sabine will play a prominent role in the plot of the series.
Ezra Bridger
(actor Eman Esfandi)
A Jedi and member of the Spectres rebel cell. He was the Jedi appentice to Kanan Jarrus. According the teaser trailers, Ezra will make an appearance for the AHSOKA series.
Chopper
(voiced by Dave Filoni)
C1-10P, or Chopper, is an astromech droid that served as a member of the Spectres rebel cell. This droid belongs to Hera Syndulla and services the Ghost starship for maintenance and repairs. Chopper is confirmed to appear in the AHSOKA series.
Then we have Zeb Orrelios who made an appearance during the third season of THE MANDALORAIN series. We know the third season of Mando runs parallel to the AHSOKA series which means Zeb is alive and present during the events of the AHSOKA series. Then one would ask why is Zeb not present in the teaser trailers for AHSOKA?

Most former members of the Ghost crew/Spectres rebel cell are set to make an appearance during the AHSOKA series. All except for Kanan Jarus and Zeb Orrelios.
If you saw the REBELS animated series, you can guess why Kanan may not make an appearance but it's not entirely impossible. However, Zeb is a big question mark. Even if he is busy patrolling New Republic space for pirates, outlaws and remnants of the Empire, I don't think Zeb is the type to ignore his friends when they are in need of help.

According to the trailers we know Ahsoka gets help from Hera Syndulla, Sabine Wren and even Chopper. Of course, Ezra Bridge can't help Ahsoka because he is missing. Finding Ezra will becomes a rally call to reunite the old Spectres gang. So why does Ahsoka not get help with Zeb?

Is Zeb gonna make an appearance but his cameo will be minor just like in Mando season 3? Or maybe the creatives are worried about inserting a live-action CGI character of Zeb's caliber into the AHSOKA series? Perhaps a live-action CGI Zeb is too expensive to fit into the series budget? His CGI cameo in THE MANDALORIAN looked alright. Maybe there are production issues that prevent Dave Filoni from inserting Zeb. For example, they have issues with his walking cycle or having him moving together with live-action actors. Or maybe we should be patient... wait and see what DaveFiloni has in store for the audience. I'm sure Filoni has already thought about when to insert Zeb into the story. I think telling a story about the disbanded Ghost crew without a grand reunion of the old gang would be a disservice to the loyal fans that have been following Ahsoka and the Spectres' journey. I'm gonna predict that Zeb will appear in the AHSOKA series as a natural progression of the story. Maybe Zeb and other familiar characters like Agent Kallus and Hondo Ohnaka will be absent from the first two episodes of series premiere but will immerge in later episodes. There are a total of eight episodes to this series and each episode is roughly 40 to 50 minutes long. Plenty of room to give each character a brief cameo. Let's see where the AHSOKA series takes us.
