"Bob Iger wants Kathleen Kennedy to stay longer as the President of Lucasfilms"
According to an inside informant of Youtuber, John Campea, his source reveals that Kathleen Kennedy will be removed as the president of Lucasfilms shortly after 'Indiana Jones 5' which is set for June 2023. However, there are conflicting claims by Bob Iger, the returned CEO of Disney. Iger has always been a supporter of Kathleen Kennedy ever since he hired her back in 2012. Campea goes on to say that Bob Iger will "entrench" Kennedy to stay on as Lucasfilms' president until the end of her contract in 2025.
Campea's goes on to say that two independent sources, that are close to the situation, corrected him. The two sources firmly believe that Iger is wrong and that the decision to remove Kennedy has already been made. Kathleen Kennedy will be gone by sometime after June 2023.
Keep in mind that Kennedy's removal is a rumor. Nothing has been officially announced. However, the decision to remove Kennedy as the president of Lucasfilms has been rumored for quite some time now. Many Star Wars fans are not pleased with Kennedy's run as Lucasfilms' president as many feel she divided that Star Wars community with the release of projects under her name like THE LAST JEDI and THE RISE OF SKYWALKER. Under Kennedy and Iger, many feel they are out of touch with their audience and are trying to push identity politics into the beloved stories of George Lucas. However, things are gradually improving with the creative direction of fellow fans, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. May the Force be with Favreau and Filoni.
