RANDOM QUESTION SUNDAY 008 "How was the premiere of THE BAD BATCH Season 2?"

Hello all! The Corellian Korean here to share my thoughts on today's RANDOM QUESTION SUNDAY. The question is:

How was the premiere of STAR WARS: THE BAD BATCH Season 2?

Spoilers Ahead! If you haven't seen the second season of THE BAD BATCH and you don't want to be spoiled then I recommend that you turn away now.

You have been warned.

The premiere of season two consisted of two episodes. The first episode was entitled "Spoils of War" which ran for 24 minutes and the second episode was entitled "Ruins of War" which ran for 28 minutes. The first episode ended on a cliffhanger and concluded on the second episode. For this question, there many things to comment about but I will only comment on the moments that stood out to me. I don't want to make this post too long as I have limited time.

I watched the two episodes as soon I returned from work with much anticipation and I was not disappointed. I was blown away by how quickly the show pulls you back into the action. I enjoyed the premier so much that I watched both episodes three times. I watched it once by myself, two more times with the kids. #37 and his sister really enjoyed the season premiere as well. During the third watch, it was on a Saturday morning while eating cereal with the kids. It was like reexperiencing Saturday morning cartoons as a kid but this time I'm the adult watching my kids in their pajamas with morning-bed-hair. Their eyes were locked onto the screen as they motioned their dripping spoons to their mouths. It was magical!

Between the action scenes, I would make comments to relate the story to the kids or point out a fun fact. For me, it was interesting to see Tech take up the role of educator for Omega's omicron-class attack shuttle schooling. To see Omega study the specs of shuttle crafts gave greater depth to Star Wars universe as we get to see what Tech prioritized in Omega's studies. Makes you wonder what the students study at Coruscant schools. It was especially rewarding to see Tech acknowledge Omega when she made use of the knowledge she gained from her studies.

The talk between Echo and Hunter seemed to hit home for #37. I think as a kid, there are moments when kids stumble upon private conversations between parents. That conversation about money and taking care of a kid hit home for me too as a parent of two. When #37 heard what Echo said about Omega, I think my boy sympathized for Omega. To see Omega so focused on getting the loot made so much sense to #37. That moment when Omega spilled the loot during the collapsing storage unit scene, #37 called out, "She has to get it back!" #37 and I were glad Echo and Omega could have a moment of resolution at the end of the episode. It was classy of Echo to say, if he could go back he would choose to be with Omega again.

The scene that made #37 and I chuckle the most was when Wrecker modified parts of a Separatist tank to make a hand-cannon. Sometimes you forget that Wrecker is a demolishes expert. He knows his way through explosives inside and out. Most of the time, he's a lunk-head who hates memorizing vital hand signals. He would say simplistic lines like "Well, I got a fact for you. I like blowing things up because I like to blow things up!" I love his child like honesty. Then in "Ruins of War", after shooting down an attack shuttle and repelling the imperial clone troopers with his new toy, he pats the modified hand canon and says, "Boom! I make a pretty good tank!" Comedy gold for the family! Thank you Dee Bradley Baker for that line (bows). I hope one day I can get Baker's autograph quoting that line so I can give it to #37.

And my favorite character was the old Serennian native, Romar. Everything he does and say was very satisfying. How he tries to make a difference by preserving the culture of his people. His disgust for the ill begotten Dooku war-chest. His teaching to Omega about treasure for children. And his charitable heart to help Clone Force 99. I wouldn't mind if THE BAD BATCH revisited this character in a later episode. I wish there were more people like him in the world.

I look forward to the next installment of THE BAD BATCH. I'm sure #37 and sister will enjoy it as well. I hope you enjoy this installment of RANDOM QUESTION SUNDAY.
