NEWS, RUMORS, & FUN TOPICS:
"Moff Gideon's New Armor & Helmet"
According to a scoop from starwarsnewsnet.com, in STAR WARS: THE MANDALORIAN Season 3 villain, Moff Gideon, played by actor Giancarlo Esposito, will dawn a new armor and helmet.
Here is a blurb from the fan blog:
"We’ve learned that in season three Moff Gideon will have new armor and a new helmet. The helmet will be black with red eyes and horns on it. The horns will be six, similar to what Darth Maul had. It will resemble a Mandalorian helmet, but it won’t be exactly the same as the other Mando helmets we’ve seen. It will look closer to Boba Fett’s helmet but it will be black, shiny, and very sleek. It will also be a bit bigger than the rest. Gideon is getting a full upgrade as he will also have a black and red jetpack."
The leak describes Gideon's new helmet design as a Mandalorian helmet similar to Boba Fett's but it's black with red eyes. It sounds like the chrome black armored heads of Gideon's Dark Troopers. However, the helmet's horn design choice resembles that of the Death Watch helmets under the rule of Darth Maul.
Gideon's body armor is left nondescript except for its jetpack which has a black and red color scheme. The horns and jetpack seem to imply that Moff Gideon is a Mandalorian or plans to become a Mandalorian. Afterall, anyone can lead Death Watch if they become the rightful owner of the Dark Saber.
The website states that the details of Gideon's new armor does not reveal any major plot leaks, but I feel the armor implies a narrative that may reveal the next evolution of the Dark Troopers.
Dark Trooper Battle Exosuit
If you played the Legends game STAR WARS: DARK FORCES then you are probably familiar with the where the Dark Troopers originated from. It seems Moff Gideon will follow the path of videogame antagonist General Rom Mohc. General Mohc creates a Dark Trooper battle exosuit that he dawns to fight the game protagonist, Kyle Katarn, as the final boss. It is either the final evolution of the Dark Trooper program or an extension of the program. However, it seems Gideon is aiming for next gen tech by combining Mandalorian tech with Dark Trooper tech. If this is true, then I can't wait to see what Favreau and Filoni have planned for the third season of The Mandalorian.
Until next time. May the Force be with you. Always!
