"Possibilities of Boba Fett Appearing in THE BAD BATCH"
Hello there! The Corellian Korean here with the news about an interview between The Direct and STAR WARS: THE BAD BATCH producer Jennifer Corbett. The producer comments on the interest of a possible cameo by Omega's brother, Boba Fett.
Here is a direct quote by Corbett:
“I think a lot of people want that because they are brother and sister but it’s important for her, at this point in her life, and where her journey is - she’s at a very different place than where Boba is right now."
"So we just really wanted to focus on her growth and her interactions with her found family versus the trajectory that Boba’s currently on. But, you know, never say never.”
Corbett admits that fans do want Omega to meet Alpha, aka Boba Fett. However, Omega's current story arch doesn't have room for Boba Fett. Omega is going through some major character development with her found family, Clone Force 99.
There is no hint of brother and sister acknowledging each others existence. It's a possibility that they never meet. That would be a shame if they didn't meet. There is room in the lore to arrange a meeting. Fans hope that they meet and have some sort of interaction.
Corbett also imply that Omega and Boba Fett are going through different developments during the second season of THE BAD BATCH. What's interesting is that Boba Fett and Omega have mirror opposite developments. Boba lost his only family and father, Jango Fett, and is learning to be a bounty hunter on his own for the most part. Boba had two known mentors, Aurra Sing and Cad Bane. Fellow bounty hunter Aurra Sing filled the mentor role after Jango's death but abandons Boba during a mission to claim revenge on Mace Windu. It was implied in THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT that Cad Bane taught Boba Fett how to be a proficient bounty hunter and worked together. But the two split at some point. While Omega was cared for by Kaminoan cloner, Nala Se. Later, Omega finds a family in the Bad Batch and learns how to be a functioning member of her adopted family.
Seems Boba Fett didn't have a consistent familial connection while Omega does... at least for now. Omega and Clone Force 99's future is still being written. We don't know what will happen to them in the future. Clones do not appear during the original trilogy unless you count the hidden Clone in RETURN OF THE JEDI, Captain Rex on Endor. We only see one other Clone begging during the OBI-WAN KENOBI series. At some point the Clones are no longer part of the Empire. I believe their fate will eventually be revealed in THE BAD BATCH. Only time will tell.
If Boba Fett grows to be a callus bounty hunter with abandonment/trust issues, there must have been an event that would soften his heart to bring about the change we see during the BOOK OF BOBA FETT. It's implied that the Sand People reformed Fett but I think there was another event that influenced him before he dropped into the Sarlaac. Perhaps that influence came in the form of a new family, Omega or Omega and the Bad Batch together. There is hope, as the THE BAD BATCH Producer said "Never say never". Anything is possible.
