"VISIONS Seaons 2 Release Date Announced"


Hello there! The Corellian Korean here with the scoop on the release date for STAR WARS: VISIONS Volume 2.


The Volume 1 of STAR WARS: VISIONS first released in September 2021. The first season showcased anime style inspired Star Wars shorts from Japanese studios of Kamikaze Douga, Geno Studio (Twin Engine), Studio Colorido (Twin Engine), TRIGGER, Kinema Citrus, Science Saru, and Production I.G. It's been over a year since Volume 1. Now the release date, studios involved, the titles and names of the creatives heading of each animation has been announced by Star Wars.




STAR WARS VISIONS Volume 2 is set to release on May 4th, 2023. This time Lucasfilms will turn away from Japanese anime and showcase nine animation studios from other parts of the world. Here is the line up:



Title: Sith

Studio: El Guiri

Writer-director: Rodrigo Blaas


Rodrigo Blaas is an Emmy Award-winning director who has more than 20 years of experience in the animation industry. He worked at Pixars Animation Studios. Blass is known for working in projects like FINDING NEMO (2003), THE INCREDIBLES (2004), RATATOUILLE (2007), and WALL-E (2008). Blass also wrote and directed 2009’s award-winning short film ALMA.



Title: Screecher’s Reach

Studio: Cartoon Saloon

Director: Paul Young


PauLl Young is a co-founder of Cartoon Saloon. He is an IFTA winner and Oscar, Emmy and BAFTA nominee. He has produced animations such as THE SECRET OF KELLS and THE BREADWINNER.



Title: In the Stars

Studio: Punkrobot

Writer-director: Gabriel Osorio


Gabriel Osorio was a Fine Arts at Universidad de Chile who later transitioned into 3D animation. He worked in film and later founded Punkrobot Studio. In 2016, Osorio's BEAR STORY was the first Latin American project to win an Oscar in the animated short category.



Title: I Am Your Mother

Studio: Aardman

Director: Magdalena Osinska


Magdalena Osinka is an award-winning director. She is known for directing stop-motion, CGI, 2D and live-action commercials like WALLACE & GROMIT'S "THE GREAT SOFA CAPER and “SHARE THE ORANGE.”



Title: Journey to the Dark Head

Studio: Studio Mir

Director: Hyeong Geun Park


Hyeong Geun Park has been working in the Korean animation industry since 2017. He has directed animation many cinematic game trailers but he known for his work in the animated series like DOTA: DRAGON'S BLOOD BOOK 3 (2022) and LOOKISM (2022).




Title: The Spy Dancer

Studio: Studio La Cachette

Writer-director: Julien Chheng


Julien Chheng is CEO and co-founder Studio La Cachette, an Emmy Award-winning French animation studio. In 2021, Chheng won an Emmy Award as animation executive producer of Genndy Tartakovsky's PRIMAL, for which he also served as animation supervisor.

Title: The Bandits of Golak

Studio: 88 Pictures

Director: Ishan Shukla


Ishan Shukla is a Indian CG artist from Singapore. Shukla's 2016 adult oriented animated short, SCHIRKOA has received many awards for 2016 animated short in Asia.



Title: The Pit

Studios: D’art Shtajio and Lucasfilm Ltd.

Writer-director-executive producer: LeAndre Thomas

Co-director: Justin Ridge


LeAndre Thomas is an award-winning writer and director from California, who is part of the franchise studio team at Lucasfilm Ltd. He has been on projects such as LIGHT & MAGIC, THE MANDALORIAN, OBI-WAN KENOBI, STAR WAR: TALES OF THE JEDI.


Justin Ridge is known as the executive produced STAR WARS: RESISTANCE. He is also known for his work in STAR WARS: REBELS, STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS and AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER.



Title: Aau’s Song

Studio: Triggerfish

Writer-directors: Nadia Darries and Daniel Clarke


Nadia Darries is a director, animator and co-founder of Goon Valley Animation, with an avocation for songwriting. Darries is from Cape Flats in South Africa, who is known for her work with Triggerfish Animation Studios on the award-winning HIGHWAY RAT.



Daniel Clarke is also a director who works in animation, film and illustration. He worked at Triggerfish Animation Studios serving as production designer, art director and director on projects like KHUMBA and THE SNAIL AND THE WHALE.
