"Youtuber Star Wars Theory Targeted for Having an Opinion"

Hey everybody, The Corellian Korean here. I thought I would highlight an issue that caught my attention on Youtube. Normally, I would try to post Star War related news but then I saw a recent video by Youtube channel, Clownfish TV. The hosts, KNEON and GEEKY SPARKLES, talked about how some Star Wars fans were targeting Youtuber Star Wars Theory on Reddit and Twitter for speaking his opinion about an episode of STAR WARS: ANDOR.

Star Wars Theory was hosting a live stream Watch Party for ANDOR. During the stream, he commented about how he didn't agree with visual aesthetic of some screws and bricks he saw on the show. Then some members of the live stream took to Twitter and Reddit to berate Star Wars Theory about this passing comment. And it blew up. You can go to Google to do a search, it's very easy to find. Here is a screen shot of a search I threw together.

Sometimes I would watch Theory's videos. And he's a regular guy who enjoys Star Wars as much as the next guy. He started this channel to support the Star Wars community and he enjoys making content related to George Lucas' creation. I see no fault in that. People target him because he has many subscribers. C'mon. Just because he's big on Youtube and he has an opinion is not an excuse to target the guy. Clownfish TV points out that this kind [edited] of behavior makes the Star Wars community look toxic. And I agree. I don't agree with this kind of behavior. I love Star Wars and I cringe when I see this kind of behavior from my kin. I feel sympathy for Star Wars Theory. I wish Star Wars fans would not debase themselves and resort to this kind of trolling on reddit and twitter. By doing so, we give fuel to people at Lucasfilms to make excuses for making poor quality work and blame the fans for being toxic.

The two hosts go on to share a tin foil hat theory, that perhaps someone with much influence hired trolls to create buzz to make Theory look bad. And these kinds of attacks to Theory have happened before from other Youtubers and some people at Lucasfilms like Pablo Hidalgo who made fun of Theory for shedding a tear for the season finale of Mandalorian Season 2 when Luke makes a huge appearance. C'mon, seriously? Theory loves Luke Skywalker like seeing an old friend. Star Wars fans have had it rough since the acquisition by Disney. You can't fault the guy for sharing his emotions with other Lucas fans in a public space. I think it's great that we have positive guys like Theory in our Star Wars community and enjoy the same things as most fans. I cringe when I see bullying and wish I could step in to stop it. Please stop. Let's try to promote a positive community where we can speak our minds and improve the status quo.

This is a video from Star Wars Theory talking about the trolling:

That's it for today. Let's strive for a better tomorrow. Until next time, may the Force be with you. Always!

[Edited: Corrections] Note: meant to say "this", not "his". Just one letter can make a big difference and change the meaning of a message. Apologies to those that misunderstood my intention especially Star Wars Theory. If you read this post carefully then you would know that I made a typo and that I'm on Theory's side.
