THE FIRST RANDOM QUESTION SUNDAY "Who Is Your Favorite Character From All Of Star Wars?"
This is a personal question that Star Wars fans may pose to each other. I'd imagine George Lucas, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni would be asked this question in an interview.

George Lucas, the father of STAR WARS. The man has greatly influenced my life since I was a little boy living in Long Island, New York. He is one of the greatest film makers of all time.

I believe George Lucas' favorite character is R2-D2 since he is the one that is always saving everyone in Episodes IV, V and VI. R2 would save his companions from the trash compactor on the Deathstar or unlock the hyperdrive on the Millenium Falcon to escape the Imperials at Cloud City.
This is what I believe but then again who knows. Lucas once said, all of his creations are his children, all of his babies are precious. Some believe Luke and Anakin hold aspects of Lucas' personal life so maybe his favorite is one of the two. The question of who Lucas' favorite character is deserves it's own post.
Jon Favreau's name is synonymous with Iron Man and now THE MANDALORIAN. Favreau is the head creative at Lucasfilms and is probably responsible for one of the most successful Disney Star Wars projects, The Mandalorian. Also, he's a fellow homeboy from Queens!

As for Jon Favreau, if I had to guess I think Favreau's favorite character is either R2-D2 or Luke Skywalker. I faintly recall Favreau or Filoni really enjoying the idea of R2 appearing during the rescue of the Child, aka Grogu, from Moff Gideon. Or maybe Luke is Favreau's favorite... I believe Jon Favreau made a big push to get Luke Skywalker to make a huge cameo on The Mandalorian. He worked closely with Filoni and Mark Hamill to keep Luke Skywalker's big appearance a secret for the finale of Mando season 2.
Dave Filoni is synonymous with STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS and the Star Wars animated universe. Some refer to Dave Filoni as the apprentice of George Lucas as he was personally schooled in the ways of the filmmaking from Baron Papanoida himself. Filoni and Faveau were co-producers for The Madalorian, and Filoni was probably the lore buff amongst the two creatives since Filoni worked at Lucasfilms longer.

I believe Filoni's favorite Star Wars character is either Plo Koon or Ahsoka Tano. I faintly recall Filoni agreeing with Plo Koon's visual aesthetics. Plo Koon was written in as the character that would save Grogu from Moff Gideon in Mando season 2 but he was used to mask the true cameo, Luke Skywalker. This was believable at the time because it was well known that Plo Koon is Filoni's favorite Jedi. But does that mean, Plo Koon is his all-time favorite Star Wars character?

Some may argue that Filoni is very biased toward his creation, his baby, Ahsoka Tano aka Anakin Skyguy's Padawon Learner. Ahsoka may have the greatest character development in all of Star Wars animation. She went from an annoying brash Youngling to a well-respected Jedi general for the Galactic Republic. Ahsoka made her live action debut in The Mandalorian Season 2 and was recently given a big arch in the latest Star Wars animated series STAR WARS: TALES OF THE JEDI. Her character has been embraced by all fans big and small. It's easy to see why many would assume Ahsoka Tano is Dave Filoni's favorite Star Wars character.
As for me, my favorite Star Wars character is...
BOBA FETT oh yeaaah~ 😎

If you read my earlier posts, you know that I tried to sell the Boba Fett and Jango Fett Mandolorian story path to #37.
CHRONICLES OF #37 - EPISODE 003: https://starwarsnewskorea.wixsite.com/swnk/post/chronicles-of-37-episode-003-part-two-choosing-your-path
I wish the boy knew my love for Fett. And he will. I know there are two Fetts: Jango and Boba. But in my head canon, I will always refer to the original first Fett from the Original Trilogy as "Fett". If you read some of the Expanded Universe material on Boba Fett like:
"STAR WARS: BOBA FETT Death, Lies & Treachery" by Dark Horse Comics,
"STAR WARS: TALES OF THE BOUNTY HUNTERS" by Bantam Books (now Bantam Spectra or Delray),
"STAR WARS: THE MANDALORIAN ARMOR The Bounter Hunter Wars: Book 1" (Don't read Book 2. The series quality starts well, ends poorly) by Bantam/Spectra/Delray
and "STAR WARS: BOBA FETT Enemy of the Empire" by Dark Horse Comics
...if you read these comic books and novels especially "BOBA FETT Death, Lies & Treachery" then you may understand my fascination with the iconic bounty hunter with no face. Damn it, that Mandalorian helmet was his face for the longest time! The expanded universe understood the fandom's desire to know more about this laconic T-visored Mandalorian that held many mysteries. The fans would scour fiction and source materials that portrayed him as the badass that everyone knew him to be. Not the buffoon comic relief that didn't get his duel with Lando over the Sarlaac Pit.
YES! George would go on to say that if he knew how big Boba Fett's fandom was then he would've given Fett a better send off in RETURN OF THE JEDI. In concept, Lucas had an idea to have a duel between Boba Fett and Lando Calrissian at the Pit of Carkoon.
[EDITED: 11/21/2022]
Here is a quote that shows George Lucas' original concept to have Boba Fett fight Lando:
Boba vs. Lando
Originally George Lucas envisioned a fight between Boba Fett and Lando but eventually suggested instead that the power pack on Boba's back should be hit and thrown around, as if he had "a balloon on his back that got air out of it." -- Star Wars: The Annotated Screenplays (p. 259)
We wanted a better Fett. So, the expanded universe would work with what they knew and portray Fett in a cool and untouchable way.... for the most part... only when he wasn't fighting Han or Chewie (I'm looking at you DARK EMPIRE 1 & 2). Fett didn't say many words and was mysterious. He was cutthroat, guile and always prepared like a Batman character. When faced with adversity, he would meet the challenge in a cold and collected manner worthy of the moniker best bounty hunter in the galaxy. He didn't take crap from anyone and mostly worked alone. He always came out on top and even went toe-to-toe against impossible foes like Vader. Eventually, Lucas would reward Fett fans by making Fett an inseparable part of the Prequel Trilogy and in affect the Star Wars lore. Then he did it, George made an army of FETTS, the grand Clone Army of the Galactic Republic. My two favorite moments in the ATTACK OF THE CLONES were Jango Fett VS the legendary Obi-wan "villain-stomper" Kenobi on Kamino and of course Yoda VS Dooku on Geonosis.

I love this Mandalorian so much that I wish they made a separate Mandalorian with this version of Fett's helmet in Season 3 or 4 of THE MANDALORIAN just to give homage to "BOBA FETT Death, Lies & Treachery".
I can go on and on about why I love Fett but that is all the time I have for today. Maybe I'll make a separate post to go deeper into what makes Fett so FETT.
Also, if you enjoyed today's topic, please leave a comment about a question you would like to be featured in next week's edition of RANDOM QUESTION SUNDAY. Or leave a comment about who your favorite Star Wars character is or share your thoughts on the post.
Until next. May the Force be with you. Always!
