"The Morning Calm"
In the last episode of the CHRONICLES OF #37, our protagonist thwarted an invasion by six enemy combatants, no doubt sent by the Hutt crime syndicate in response to the ruckus #37 made at Mos Espa. #37 captured each intruder with the new revolutionary R&D tech, Obedience Disks. R&D was pleased with the research data that G2 has been transmitting to them. What do they plan with this tech and data? Only time will tell.

Level Up
With the completion of the second skirmish, #37 has reached a new milestone. Trooper #37 is now Level 2. Let's take a look at his new stats:

Trooper 37
Hit Points: 40 (+10) = 50
Attack: +5 (+1) = +6
Defense: 16 (+1) = 17
Damage: 10
Abilities
Unique: This character is one of a kind and has a given name, such as Obi-Wan Kenobi. You cannot have more than one Unique character with the same given name in your squad. Different versions of the same character have slightly different names, but all of them count as that character for purposes of this ability. For example, “General Grievous,” “General Grievous, Supreme Commander,” “General Grievous, Jedi Hunter,” and “Grievous’s Wheel Bike” all count as “General Grievous.” Where there is the possibility of confusion, the card text specifies the name this character counts as.
Obedience Disks: If you defeat a non-droid non-unique enemy, they can join your squad in the next skirmish.
Guardian R2 Unit or G2

Hit Points: 10
Attack: +0 (+1) = +1
Defense: 0 (+15) = 15
Damage: 0 (+10) = 10
Abilities
Unique
(NEW) Melee Attack: This character can attack only enemies adjacent to it.
Experimental Droid: Indestructible. Other details are undisclosed.
Guardian: If an enemy targets an ally within 12 squares of this character, you can force that enemy to target this character instead (does not matter if the enemy can choose this character as a target). The attacker can resist this effect with a save of 11. Ignore all obstructions when counting distance.
With these buffs, #37 gets +1 to Attack, Defense and +10 in HP. G2 is now connected to #37 so the Guardian R2 Unit will get a buff every time #37 levels up. G2 gets +1 in Attack, +15 in Defense and +10 in Damage. Now G2 can deal melee damage and gets a Defense rating, which is curious since the Droid is indestructible.
Also, I would like to note that G2's save 11 on his Guardian shield is plenty powerful and balanced at 50/50 chance of success. I mean the droid is indestructible so you can abuse this ability by standing it adjacent to an enemy and the enemy would be forced to attack the droid which will allow #37 to use G2 as a barrier between himself and the enemy. But if you want to make G2 even more OP then by all means tweak the save number to 16 (roll a 16 or higher for success) or go higher. However, I feel there should be an element of danger. If #37 feels too secure and invincible then it takes all of the fun and challenge out of the game. Gotta leave room for #37 to use his noggin and overcome challenges presented to him. With each mission, it would be beneficial for #37's development to raise the difficultly ever so slightly. Also, it's worth noting that the Obedience Disks ability and #37's level scaling will impact each game greatly. I always worry about powercreep, don't want #37 to feel too powerful. But I have to say that #37 always looked forward to leveling up and receiving new stats and abilities. Leveling is always an anticipated event as the boy counts his experience points with each mission.
Story Time
Before sunrise, #37 woke up for his routine cardiovascular and strength training which involved him running laps around the outpost for half an hour and scaling the walls of the outpost for another 30 minutes. He trained with his heavy equipment on which includes his Stormtrooper armor, riffle, several obedience disks and extra gear. Afterwards, #37 returned to his quarters for a quick sonic-shower then dawned his self-cleaning black body glove which he wears underneath the white body plating of his Stormtrooper armor. Then #37 proceeded to the mess area for his morning sustenance: one nutrient ration bar and a cup of Jawa-juice. While eating, G2 handed him the R&D datapad to read. On it, he would check G2's thorough report from yesterday's events, logistics, conditions of the adjunct recruits, all of the research data that was streamed to R&D, and recent inbound communications. As always, G2 would tend to all of the biological needs of the recruits and monitored the outpost for more intruders.
#37 was expecting trouble. He knew the Hutts would send a bigger threat once they realized that their last raid party did not report back. The probability of surviving the next raid will depend upon #37's preparation and resourcefulness. He had the element of surprise, the Hutts were unaware of the R&D Obedience Disks and G2's Guardian abilities.
No time to waste, got to prepare for the next invasion. #37 thought about his Clone commanding officer and fellow cadets at the academy as he relocated to logistics.
"I wonder what Commander Cody and Biggs are up to right now. No... must focus on the task at hand."
#37 pulled up the files on the new adjunct recruits. Now he had nine allies at his disposal including G2. Coordinating a large party with the Command Ring will be challenging.
Suddenly G2 spun around the corner of the logistics bay to warn #37 that there are several incoming life signs. A sinister grin hid under the Stormtrooper helmet. It's showtime.
To be continued.
