In the last episode, Trooper 37's stats were revealed.

Trooper 37

Cost: +5

Hit Points: 40

Attack: +5

Defense: 16

Damage: 10

Abilities Unique: This character is one of a kind and has a given name, such as Obi-Wan Kenobi. You cannot have more than one Unique character with the same given name in your squad. Different versions of the same character have slightly different names, but all of them count as that character for purposes of this ability. For example, “General Grievous,” “General Grievous, Supreme Commander,” “General Grievous, Jedi Hunter,” and “Grievous’s Wheel Bike” all count as “General Grievous.” Where there is the possibility ofconfusion, the card text specifies the name this character counts as.

Obedience Disks: If you defeat a non-droid non-unique enemy, they can join your squad in the next skirmish.

#37's stats were basically the same as a typical Rebel Storm set Stormtrooper. Same Attack, Defense, and Damage but with more HP (Hit Points). Since he has never played a strategy RPG before, I gave #37 a bit more HP so he can survive one hit instant deaths. Typically, a Stormertrooper gets 10 HP but Trooper 37 got +30 HP for a total of 40 HP. This will allow him to survive one or two hits and experiment with his character. However, he can die. And as a consequence, he can either restart the mission or resume but gain no experience points. I don't want to demoralize the boy, after all he is only 6 years old.

Also #37 is considered Unique (one of a kind) and he has one special ability, Obedience Disks. I'll talk about this ability later.

Now let's look at "Luke Skywalker, Rebel" and "Darth Vader, Dark Jedi". Just to compare #37's stats to Luke and Vader.

Luke Skywalker, Rebel (aka New Hope Luke or Farmboy Luke) Cost: 17

Hit Points: 40

Attack: +7

Defense: 17

Damage: 20

Abilities Unique

Implusive Shot: Once per turn, this character can make an immediate attack when a Unique allied character is defeated.

Force Powers Force 2

Darth Vader, Dark Jedi (aka Force Choke Vader)

Cost: 55

Hit Points: 140

Attack: +14

Defense: 22

Damage: 20

Abilities Unique

Double Attack: On its turn, if this character attacks without moving first, it then has the option either to move normally or to make an extra attack. The extra attack can be against the same enemy as the original attack, but it doesn’t have to be. Since this special ability works only on its turn, this character still makes only a single attack when making an attack of opportunity.

Melee Attack: This character can attack only enemies adjacent to it. Force Powers Force 5 Force Grip: (1 Force point) Instead of making its normal attack or attacks, a character using this Force power deals 10 damage to an enemy within line of sight. This follows all the usual rules for choosing a target. Using Force Grip is not an attack and does not require an attack roll. Lightsaber Sweep: (1 Force point) Instead of making its normal attack or attacks, a character using this Force power makes one attack against each enemy adjacent to it instead of using the targeting rules. A character can move normally on the turn that it uses this Force power. Commander Effect: Whenever an allied character without a Force rating gets a natural 1 on any roll, that character is defeated and all other allies without a Force rating get +2 Attack (These bonuses stack).

This will give you an idea as to how underpowered #37 is even though he received an upgrade. He is one Stormtrooper in a universe full of OP characters he cannot compare to.

But that's alright. #37 has his training wheels on. Say hello to #37's little droid partner!

Experimental R2 Unit Astromech Droid (or R2 Unit)

Cost: ??? Hit Points: 10 Attack: +0 Defense: 0 Damage: 0 Abilities Unique Experimental Droid: Indestructible. Other details are undisclosed. Guardian: If an enemy targets an ally within 12 squares of this character, you can force that enemy to target this character instead (does not matter if the enemy can choose this character as a target). The attacker can resist this effect with a save of 11. Ignore all obstructions when counting distance.

This Droid will absorb all damage for #37 as long as these two are 12 spaces from each other. And the "Guardian" ability only works if the enemy shooter is unsuccessfully at rolling an 11 to 20 out from a 20-sided die. So, it's a 50/50 chance of success. This Droid was designed to be an extension of #37 but a completely separate character which implies many things which I'll get into at a later time. Controlling this experimental Droid will teach #37 how to coordinate two separate characters at the same time. I purposely added these abilities on #37 and the droid to set up a narrative for the scenario #37 will follow in his first mission as a Stormtrooper. Unfortunately, that is all the time I have for today. The "Obedience Disks", "Experimental Droid", "Guardian" abilities will be explained in more detail next episode. And hopefully we'll talk about who #37's opposition will be.
